1.8t engine noise started out of the blue (please help me!) video included
Made me sick i thought i lost my cam tensioner at first.
It had a misfire at first (felt like one) and now it's gone.
Used a stethoscope to try and locate the noise it seems to be coming from the head.
I am thinking possibly a collapsed lifter?
BTW, this engine has 185k miles.
Clean valvetrain isn't it?
Please help!!

camshaft adjuster???
i would point at the camshaft adjuster first, just my 2 cents. It's the only thing i've seen make a noise like that, then again i've never heard one with a valve cover off.
